Music of the Season at the Museum

Music of the Season at the Museum

Hagerstown, MD- The Washington County Museum of Fine Arts will present the Museum Consort in recital on Sunday, December 21, 2008 at 2:30pm. Consort members are Jeff Clise, Brenda Slick, David Styer and Naomi Styer.
Tired of hearing the same 10 holiday songs? Come to the Museum and hear the softer side of the Holidays as the Consort performs music that is intriguing and soothing to your ears. A mix of the old and the new will include O Magnum Mysterium by Spanish composer Tomas Luis de Victoria, Two Christmas Dance Carols (Ding Dong! Merrily on High and Fum, Fum, Fum), as well as Chanukah Delights, a medley of Chanukah songs arranged by Stan Davis.
Thanks to the generosity of William and Anna Singer, the Washington County Museum of Fine Arts opened on September 16, 1931 as the focal point of Hagerstown' s beautiful City Park. The Museum specializes in 19th and 20th century American art and holds over 6,000 pieces in its permanent collection.
This "crown jewel of Washington County" has been recognized as one of the finest small museums in the United States. The Museum offers complimentary studio art courses, lectures, concerts, and exhibitions from its permanent collection and traveling shows.
