1st Sgt. Anne Dittrich
1st Sgt. Anne Dittrich, a native of Hagerstown, Md., and the first sergeant for the 590th Quartermaster Company, stands in front of her unit as she prepares to carry out her duties. Her duties as first sergeant entail maintaining positive control over the entire operations of the 590th QM Co. and the 2nd Platoon, 140th Quartermaster Company. The unit is the primary provider of tactical field services such as Shower, Laundry, and Clothing Renovation to divisional and non-divisional Soldiers on outlying forward operating bases in Iraq. The Soldiers at the outlying sites work 12 to 18-hour shifts to accomplish their daily missions. The first sergeant along with her senior counterparts, maintain accountability of all Soldiers and equipment in the unit's areas of operation. The 590th QM Co. is currently serving a 15-month tour of duty in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
