Blazing Leaves and Perfect Harmony

The leaves are just starting to turn, and soon we'll be treated to one of Mother Nature's most spectacular displays - brilliant oranges, vivid yellows, and magnificent scarlet foliage.
Autumn is a season for jumping in piles of leaves, running through corn mazes, and going on nature walks. The daylight hours are already growing shorter and the nighttime hours are longer, but who can resist the sounds of nighttime during autumn - crickets chirping, trees rustling, and winds howling.
Watching television is put on the back burner. Sitting on the front porch, taking in the sounds, smells, and scenes, while sipping on a hot cup of cocoa is something my family and I do often on cool autumn nights. A leisurely afternoon drive with a picnic lunch is time well spent.
Autumn is also a time of year associated with the Halloween season, Thanksgiving, and autumn harvest festivals. It is also the time during which most crops are harvested, and deciduous trees lose their leaves.
Get outdoors! This is a fantastic time for it! Autumn gives us the opportunity to enjoy a day outside without becoming too hot or too cold. We can escape and enjoy long hikes while enjoying the changing scenery and colors or just sit under a tree for hours at a time. This beautiful season is also the perfect time for taking beautiful photos.
Autumn's fiery colors explode all around us. Her wind brings in shorter, cooler days. The beauty of autumn in Maryland is spectacular.
If perfect harmony can be achieved anywhere, Washington County, Maryland is the place. So get outside and find your perfect harmony.
