A Jazz Afternoon: Mike Gellar and Christiana Drapkin in Concert

(Hagerstown, MD)- Washington County Free Library at 100 S. Potomac St., Hagerstown welcomes Mike Gellar and Christiana Drapkin with a jazz quintet to the library today (Sunday, September 7) at 3pm.
Mike Gellar, a jazz guitarist, performs in duo, trio, quartet and quintet settings in the Frederick, Baltimore, Washington and Harrisburg areas. His repertoire consists of swing, be-bop, and cool and modern jazz from a vast variety of composers.
Jazz vocalist Christiana Drapkin, who has been performing in the New York area and on the East Coast for almost twenty years is noted for her lyrical and highly personal delivery of ballads and for her abandoned yet artful scat improvisations. Christiana's singing is deeply immersed in the rich traditions of Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald and Carmen McRae.
