Pickin' in the Panhandle

Pickin' in the Panhandle

Pickin' in the Panhandle, the West Virginia State BBQ and Bluegrass Festival to be held September 6 and 7 just outside of Martinsburg, will feature sixteen contemporary and old school bluegrass bands. The event will also allow others to show off their pickin' and playin' skills in their various competitions. Prizes will be awarded for the best flat pickin, banjo, fiddle and band. Pickin' in the Panhandle will also feature the Great WV Breakdown, a freestyle audience choice competition.
"This is a great opportunity to share your pickin' and playin' talents with others," stated Andrea Ball, Executive Director of the Martinsburg-Berkeley County Convention and Visitor's Bureau, the main event sponsor. "The winner of our 2007 band competition, By and By Band, is one of the featured performers at this year's event."
Winners will receive cash prizes and braggin' rights and all registrants will receive a t-shirt. Each competition is limited to 10 registered contestants, so sign up now to show your bluegrass skills!
