Annual Public School Art Exhibition

Hagerstown, MD- This annual exhibition offers a glimpse into the outstanding art education program in Washington County by giving students the opportunity to display their artwork in a museum setting. Featuring works in a wide variety of media, this exhibition includes the imaginative artistic creations of students from kindergarten through the twelfth grade.
Mr. Rob Hovermale, Coordinator of Visual and Performing Arts and the outstanding art educators of Washington County organize the exhibition in conjunction with the Museum.
Students, their families and the general public are invited to attend a special opening reception on Sunday, April 27, 2008 from 2pm to 4pm.
Light refreshments will be served by the Museum' s volunteer organization, The Singer Society.
Thanks to the generosity of William and Anna Singer, the Washington County Museum of Fine Arts opened on September 16, 1931 as the focal point of Hagerstown' s beautiful City Park. The Museum specializes in 19th and 20th century American art and holds over 6,000 pieces in its permanent collection. This "crown jewel of Washington County" has been recognized as one of the finest small museums in the United States. The Museum offers complimentary studio art courses, lectures, concerts, and exhibitions from its permanent collection and traveling shows.
