BOE Advisory Committee Members Sought

Hagerstown, MD (March 10, 2008)- The Washington County Board of Education (BOE) is seeking citizens interested in serving on standing committees that serve in an advisory capacity to the BOE and staff. Committee work includes reviewing information pertaining to specific departments, programs, and issues, studying the impact of the information and community input on WCPS students and the school system, and exploring options on issues and action requests that come before the committee. The following committees are in place:
* Budget Advocacy and Review Advisory Committee
* Calendar Advisory Committee
* County Citizens ' Advisory Council
* District Technology Planning Advisory Committee
* Ethics Advisory Panel
* Facilities and Enrollment Advisory Committee (FEAC)
* Family Life Advisory Committee
* Finance and Audit Review Advisory Committee
* Safe Schools Committee
FEAC's membership includes two individuals from each high school attendance zone. Currently, there is one opening each in the Clear Spring, Boonsboro, North High, and South High areas. Vacancies also exist on the Ethics Advisory Panel and the Family Life Advisory Committee.
