Senior Planner Jill Baker, and Assistant County Attorney Kirk Downey brought this request, an Application for Rezoning of 9.42 acres located at 21023 Keadle Road, in Boonsboro owned by Walter Lawson. The Planning Commission recommended approval of this rezoning request based on the contention that a mistake was made in the original zoning of the property. The applicant has requested that it be rezoned from RB-E Rural Business Existing to EC - Environmental Conservation. The subject property consists of 9.42 acres located at 21023 Keadle Road, Boonsboro. A joint public hearing was held on this rezoning request on September 17, 2007. This matter was on the agenda for discussion by the Commissioners on the issue of whether to grant or deny the rezoning request. The measure was supported by consensus and findings of fact will be presented for approval at a later date.

Brought this request, to approve the resolution authorizing the filing of the application for a grant under the Federal Transit Act. The Public Transportation Department annually applies to the Maryland Transit Administration for Federal and State grant funding to operate authorized transportation programs within Washington County, Maryland. The application is for Fiscal Year 2009 and is being made for both operational and capital funding. Cerrone told the Board that the total application is for $2.03 million, which includes the Department of Social Services (DSS) JOBS program as described below. Local Match from the General Fund is required to secure Federal and State grant funds for the Urban Transportation Program is for $450,000.00, and the ADA Paratransit
$ 28,010.00. The request was approved by unanimous vote.
