For all you BREAD lovers! The Rural Heritage Museum will host the second artisan bread baking class in 2008 on Saturday, February 2 from 8am to 5pm. This is your chance to learn the methods, uniqueness and preparation of bread baking 200 years ago. If you would like to learn more about historic breads and methods of bread baking, this is a great class to attend. This is a hands on class that will enable you to enjoy the delightful aroma and taste and take home fresh baked bread. Sampling, tasting and understanding bread types, styles and textures will be part of this exciting culinary class.
The cost of the class is $50 per person which covers all class materials and advance registration is required by calling the Rural Heritage Museum at 240-313-2839. Early registration is encouraged since this classes fills quickly.
Everyone is asked to bring a brown bag lunch. Beverages will be provided.
The Rural Heritage Museum and Village and Homestead are growing and more log buildings are finding their way to permanently reside at the Museum Village. This year holds many more exciting constructions including a wood fired bread oven, a drying shed and another log structure. More classes will be offered in 2008 including gourmet bread baking, hearth cooking, and cooking with herbs.
