National Book Network to Open Warehouse in Hagerstown

(Hagerstown, MD- January 16, 2008) National Book Network, owned by the Rowman & Littlefield Publishing Group, Inc., has signed a long-term lease for its newest distribution center. Located in the General Electric building on 18212 Shawley Drive in Hagerstown, the company is utilizing 150,000 of the 300,000 square feet owned by First Industrial Realty Trust.
National Book Network is an independent publisher and distributor in North America. It services North American and overseas publishers of commercial fiction and nonfiction books and audio titles. They have national accounts with Borders, Barnes & Noble, and Amazon.com among several others.
The company will be employing about 24 people and have plans for expanding its Hagerstown operations in the next few years. According to Jed Lyons, CEO of National Book Network, "We chose Hagerstown because of its workforce, location, and proximity to our Blue Ridge Summit, Pennsylvania operations." Timothy Troxell, CEcD, Executive Director of Hagerstown-Washington County Economic Development Commission, comments, "National Book Network is a welcome addition to our business community.
