Construction Advisory: Eastern Boulevard

Construction Advisory
Eastern Boulevard

The City has issued a Notice to Proceed on the Eastern Boulevard widening project for October 8, 2007. During the week of October 8th, crews from Charles E. Brake, Inc. will begin work on the project to widen Eastern Boulevard between Conrad Court and Jefferson Boulevard. The initial work will consist of excavating test pits to verify the location of underground utilities. Surveyors will also begin staking-out the limits of the proposed construction.
Motorists approaching the work zone may encounter flagmen, cones, barricades, and other traffic control devices. While the travel lanes will remain open in both directions, temporary lane shifts may be required to direct traffic around the excavations.
After the test pit excavations are completed, the Contractor will begin work on utility relocations and preliminary storm drainage construction. Although the Contractor has not yet established a firm schedule for this work, we anticipate that significant construction activity on the project will begin before the end of October.
Updates on the status of the construction will be issued on a regular basis, and will also be posted on the City's web site (
