Bone To Be Wild: A Thundering Success
Bone To Be Wild
A Thundering Success
Hagerstown, MD- The Humane Society of Washington County's motorcycle ride fundraiser, Bone to Be Wild, was held on Sunday, July 22, 2007. With perfect weather a record number of riders came out to enjoy a ride in the countryside and help raise money for the shelter.
Harley-Davidson-Buell Williamsport in Williamsport, Maryland hosted the ride's departure and provided complimentary donuts, juice and coffee. Numerous raffle prizes temped riders as they waited to embark on the scenic ride designed for the event. The event started with 100 pre-registered riders and by 11am over 70 additional riders had registered and were ready to cruise.
As riders started their motorcycle the excitement was palpable. "I just love to hear the rumble of the engines," stated July Draper, HSWC volunteer. She added, "There is an electricity in the air. It is so exciting!" As the first motorcycles disappeared out of the parking lot of Harley-Davidson-Buell Williamsport and other bikes took their places in line it was quickly apparent that there was an enormous number of bikes involved. "It is obvious there is a record number of riders this year. We are really pleased so many people came out to Bone to Be Wild this year," said Paul Miller, executive director of the Humane Society of Washington County. "I am certain everyone that sees this event will say this is an impressive line of motorcycles," he added with a broad smile.
