May 5
The final competition for the Teen Idol Contest. Washington County Free Library & The Maryland Theatre is sponsoring the event set for ages 16 to 19. The winner will recieve a free trip to New York City to audition for "American Idol." For more information call 301-739-3250 x126.

May 6, 2:30pm
Music from Shepherd- Student Honors Recital. This event will take place at the Washington County Museum of Fine Arts in City Park, Hagerstown. Reception will follow. For more information call 301-739-5727 or visit www.wcmfa.org.

The Band and Orchestra Spring Concert for Paramount Elementary School will take place on May 10 at 7pm. Paramount Elementary is located at 19410 Longmeadow Road, Hagerstown. Call 301-766-8289 for more information.

May 17, 9 & 10:30am
The Maryland Symphony Orchestra presents: Kinder Konzerts. These concerts are free concerts for preschool-aged listeners. Smithsburg High School Orchestra (@ Smithsburg HS auditorium). Concerts feature half-hour programs designed to entertain and excite very young listeners with short musical selections and introductions to the instruments. Martinsburg Jazz Orchestra is taking place at Pen Mar Park. The event is free. The dance pavilion is the site of Sunday afternoon dances with live music, June-September. The very finest of the big band era ballroom music. Call 240-313-2700 for more information.

Memorial Day Tribute, Avenue of Flags is taking palce at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel at 10:30am. 300 American flags will fly throughout the cemetery. Bagpipe music and concert by Appalachian Wind Quintet. 301-733-3575.

May 31, 5pm-8pm
Miller House Blues Festival will take place at the Miller House in Hagerstown. Prelude to Hagerstown BluesFest weekend. Live music in the garden of the historic Miller House. Refreshments will be served. Call 301-797-8782 for more information.
