Golf Event to Memorialize 10 Year Old Organ & Tissue Donor

Join The Ricci Family on Thursday, April 26, 2007, at Beechtree Golf Club, 811 S Stepney Road, Aberdeen, MD for the Fourth Annual Heather Ann Ricci Memorial Golf Outing.
After their daughter Heather lost her life in a tragic auto accident on her 10th birthday in August 2001, Louis and Kim Ricci were determined to do something positive in her memory. They chose to donate five of Heather's organs (her heart, lungs, liver, and both kidneys) to five other individuals who were in desperate need.
The Ricci Family has set up a memorial fund in their daughter's honor. Each year, since 2004, it sponsors the Heather Ann Ricci Memorial Golf Outing. Proceeds for this event are donated to The Living Legacy Foundation of Maryland to increase awareness about organ and tissue donation in the Maryland Community.
Event highlights include:
- Heather's Heart Recipient, 16-year-old Brian will be in attendance
- Live & Silent Auctions by Great Moments
Registration begins at 10am/Shotgun Start is at 12:30pm.
The Living Legacy Foundation of Maryland (formerly the Transplant Resource Center of Maryland), the local not-for profit health service provider of organs and tissues, sponsors this event to thank those families who made the courageous decision to donate and remember their loved ones.
In Maryland, there are 2,380 people awaiting a life -saving organ transplant. Nationally, that number exceeds 95,000. Every 12 minutes an American is added to this waiting list and each day 17 Americans die while waiting for a lifesaving transplant.
