Heritage Day at Fairview Outdoor Education Center

Fairview Outdoor Education Center welcomes families and visitors to the Annual Heritage Day, which is scheduled for Saturday, February 24, 2007. Maple sugaring demonstrations and children's activities are scheduled from 10am-2pm. Plumb Grove, a historic 1831 colonial farmhouse will be open for tours too. It's fully furnished with local and Maryland-made antiques and is owned by the Clear Spring Historical Society. Breakfast and lunch fare will be available at Plumb Grove from 9:30am-2:30pm. Admission and activities for the day are free.
To get to Fairview and Plumb Grove, take Exit 18 off Interstate 70 at Clear Spring, Maryland. Go north into Clear Spring on Maryland Route 68. Turn left on U.S. Route 40. Go west one block and turn right at the traffic light on to Martin Street. At the end of Martin Street turn right on Broadfording Road and travel approximately 100 yards. Turn left on Draper Road. The entrance to Fairview Outdoor Education Center is about 1/3 of a mile from this intersection. Plumb Grove is a short walk from the Fairview sugar bush, or the entrance to Plumb Grove is at the end of Martin Street.
