Karly Logsdon, a sophomore at Hancock Middle-Senior High School, has been selected to attend the Hugh O'Brian Youth Leadership Conference in May 2007. For the past fifty years Hugh HOBY has helped young people make a difference and become positive catalysts for change in the home, school, workplace, and community. Karly was selected based on her leadership abilities, faculty input, an essay and a personal interview. She will attend a three-day leadership seminar at Mount St. Mary's University in Emmitsburg, MD.
Lynnsay Jean Erskine, daughter of Lindsey and Lori Gudgeon of Boonsboro and wife of Benjamin Erskine, graduated April 29 from Indiana Wesleyan University. A 2002 graduate of Boonsboro High School, Erskine graduated from IWU with Bachelor of Science degrees in photography and fine arts.
Jesse Taylor, a native of Hagerstown and a graduate of Heritage High School, was selected to represent the Frostburg State University College of Business at the 129th Commencement Ceremonies held Dec. 17 in Frostburg, MD. Taylor, who resides in Piedmont, W.Va., has done everything from working with children as a teacher's assistant in Hagerstown and completing over 1,700 volunteer hours with AmeriCorps to serving as a nuclear reactor operator with the U.S. Navy.
