Deadline for Applying for Absentee Ballot

Maryland voters have until Tuesday, October 31, 2006 to apply for an absentee ballot for the November 7, 2006 Gubernatorial General Election. The application must be received at the appropriate local board of elections by 4:30pm if sent by mail or delivered by midnight if sent by facsimile.
An application for an absentee ballot must be made in writing to the voter's local board of elections. Voters may u se the application contained in the website of the State Board of Elections (www.elections.state.md.us) or make an informal request containing the voter's name, voter registration address, where the ballot is to be mailed, and the voter's signature. There is no requirement for a notarized oath nor reason for requesting an absentee ballot.
