Additional Commissioners' meetings will relocate due to elevator maintenance

The Washington County Board of County Commissioners' meetings will be located in alternate settings over the next month, while maintenance is being conducted on the elevator at the County Administration Building. The meetings set for August 1 and August 8 will be affected.
In making repairs, the contractor found additional work was needed, which will delay completion of the project.
On Tuesday, July 18, the meeting is scheduled to be held at the Department of Water Quality Building at 16232 Elliott Parkway, in the Public Meeting Room. Elliott Parkway serves the I-70/81 Industrial Park off Maryland Route 63, Greencastle Pike, between Williamsport and Huyett's Crossroad. Open session is scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m. A map of that location and picture of the Water Quality Building can be seen on the County Website at www.washco-md.net/water_sewer/index.shtm
July 25 is scheduled as a Commissioners' vacation week.
Meetings are not scheduled to resume in the Commissioners' Meeting Room, on the second floor of the Administration Building, at 100 West Washington Street in Hagerstown before mid-August. There is no meeting scheduled for August 15th due to the summer meeting of the Maryland Association of Counties (MACo). Locations for the August meeting will be announced.
The elevator is closed due to a regular maintenance project, as required by state law. During the remainder of this period, persons who have mobility problems and cannot climb stairs, and who need to receive services from departments located on the second and third floors of the building are being asked to make contact with the department providing the service or the Office on Disability Issues to schedule an appointment in an accessible location.
Arrangements can be made by contacting the Office on Disability Issues at 240-313-2077 (V/TDD) or in person at the Information Desk in the Mail Room ion the first floor of the Administration Building.
