New Antietam Film Battle Set To Air On PBS

A new film "Lincoln and Lee at Antietam- The Cost of Freedom," part of the MINUTES OF HISTORY(R) series is set to air on PBS this spring. Narrated by Ronald F. Maxwell, director of "Gettysburg" and "Gods and Generals," the feature documentary is presented by Penn State Public Broadcasting (PSPB). The special will air on stations beginning in May 2006, and will be broadcast in standard and high definition formats.
Scholars contributing to this DVD include Pulitzer Prize winning author James M. McPherson ("Battle Cry of Freedom" and "Crossroads of Freedom: Antietam"); Allen C. Guelzo, a recent nominee by the President of the United States to the National Council on the Humanities and two-time Lincoln Prize recipient; and Stanley Wernz, featured in "Time" magazine (July 4, 2005) and current president of the Association of Lincoln Presenters.
The film will be on sale at video stores, Internet retailers, educational and institutional distributors and large retail chains like Borders stores on January 31, 2006. Many retailers are currently accepting pre-orders as well.
