Laura Forsythe, Williamsport High & Peter Frey, Boonsboro High

Laura Forsythe of Williamsport High School and Peter Frey of Boonsboro High School have been recognized as winners of the High School Heisman, an annual honor bestowed by the Wendy's Restaurant chain on high school senior men and women for excellence in academics, community service and athletics. Wendy's founder Dave Thomas created the award in 1994 to salute high school scholar/athletes who give back to their community.
Ms. Forsythe is a member of the cross-country and track teams at Williamsport High and her honors and activities include National Honor Society, Distinguished Scholars, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and Peer Helper. She's also Vice President of the Student Government Association. She's carrying a 4.19 grade point average. Mr. Frey carries a 4.25 grade point average while competing as a member of the soccer and track teams. His activities and honors include Fellowship of Christian Athletes and National Honor Society.
Each state winner receives a silver medal and is considered by a panel of judges as one of 12 possible National Finalists; one male and one female from each of six geographic regions. The National Finalists will be invited to the Wendy's High School Heisman National Awards Banquet on December 9, 2005 in New York City. Their high schools each receive a $1,000 monetary award in the student's name.
