What's special about Boone?

Boone is an early reader non-fiction book in story format for children. One Incredible Dog! Series celebrates search and rescue dogs and the services they perform for people everyday. In this particular book, Boone is a trained bloodhound that works with owners/handlers Jim & Terri Hick in the South Central area of Pennsylvania. Named after the famous tracker, Daniel Boone, Boone takes readers through a typical day in the life of a search and rescue dog.
Boone has earned his Canine Good Citizen status in 1999 from the American Kennel Club as well as many other awards & honors. He possesses special gifts and senses that enable him to locate lost children or to help locate a criminal in hiding.
The story promotes the splendid and friendly relationship these trained dogs have with children, hospitals, and the elderly.
"One Incredible Dog! Boone" is an excellent book for schools, libraries, and organizations dedicated to teaching children about safety and good-naturedness. This reviewer highly recommends this book and all One Incredible Dog! books.
