Technology In Education Honors for Emma K. Doub Elementary School Students & Staff

HAGERSTOWN, MD (May 20, 2013) -- Emma K. Doub Elementary School principal Catherine Poling, library media specialist Christine Hurley and students, and sisters, Emma and Hanna Weikert, were honored at the 2013 Common Ground Conference in Baltimore on April 23, 2013. The conference brings together educators and leaders in the field of educational technology integration in K-12 schools.
Ms. Poling received the "Making IT Happen" award from the International Society for Technology In Education for her leadership role in integrating technology into classes and curriculum. Mrs. Hurley was given the Outstanding Educator Using Technology award from the Maryland Society for Educational Technology (MSET) for her extensive, innovative and effective use of technology with students. Emma Weikert and Hanna Weikert were MSET Multimedia Student Contest Grades 3-5 award winners. The award is given to students who demonstrate outstanding originality and proficiency in creating a multimedia project connected to the curriculum.
