Charitable Donations Offer H.E.L.P. to Pets of Washington County Residents in Need

HAGERSTOWN, MD: The Humane Society of Washington County, Inc. (HSWC) announces receipt of funding for their existing H.E.L.P, Humane Emergency Linkup Program, from the ASPCA(r), (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals), and Subaru's Share the Love program.
The H.E.L.P. program was established to provide financial assistance to economically challenged residents of Washington County obtain emergency care for their pets during the economic downturn. Washington County residents who are receiving county, state or federal government financial assistance, social security, or disability benefits may apply. A valid Driver's License or current utility bill that is not addressed to a P.O. Box are acceptable forms of documentation. Residents may contact the HSWC at 301-733-2060 and ask for information on the HELP program.
One hundred percent of the ASPCA's "Share the Love" donation from Subaru is targeted for distribution as grants to animal welfare organizations in all 50 states. "Thanks to this donation from the ASPCA(r) and Subaru we are able to once again provide assistance for pets owned by financially challenged residents of Washington County," said Shannon Cianelli, President of the Board of Directors of the HSWC.
