Shop Small and Win City Center Dollars for Small Business Saturday

The City of Hagerstown is celebrating small businesses by participating in Small Business Saturday on Nov. 24, 2012. Small Business Saturday is a day where shoppers across the country are encouraged to patronize businesses owned by their friends and neighbors in support and appreciation of what small businesses do for the community.
Last year, over one hundred million people came together nationally to "Shop Small" in their communities on Small Business Saturday. Falling between Black Friday and Cyber Monday, Small Business Saturday was founded by American Express. See: www.shopsmall.com.
On Tuesday, Nov. 20, the City will issue a proclamation showing support for Small Business Saturday, and the small businesses that are located in Hagerstown, Maryland.
On Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m., individuals who make a purchase of $20 or more from a locally-owned small business located within the City of Hagerstown can visit the Hagerstown-Washington County Convention and Visitors Bureau and be entered into a drawing for $100 City Center Dollars, which can be redeemed at City Center businesses. Three winners will be picked from the entrees.
"The small businesses located in Hagerstown are the backbone of our economy," stated Economic Development Manager, Jill Estavillo. "The City of Hagerstown supports the efforts of local businesses and recognizes the critical role they play in our community. We encourage everyone to shop at our small businesses and buy local, not only on Small Business Saturday but also throughout the entire year."
