Main Street Businesses Offer Special Events at Downtown Chambersburg's First Friday

Chambersburg, PA - Chambersburg's Downtown Business Council partners with CenturyLink and the Council for the Arts to present live music, children's activities and demonstrating artists, as the year's series of First Friday art walks in downtown Chambersburg continues with an "All-American" First Friday on July 6th from 5-8 pm. More than 25 artists will display and sell their work, from paintings and photographs to jewelry and recycled art, along Main Street.
CenturyLink's mobile unit will be on the Square with balloons and hot dogs. First Friday t-shirts will be available for sale, and many Main Street shops and restaurants will feature extended hours.
The Arts Council will offer an Interactive Art Banner created by local artist Sam Dalious, near M&T Bank, 55 South Main Street, for "wanna-be" artists of any age to express their creativity!
At Blondie, 58 South Main Street, photographer Brad Gillespie will offer a free photo-booth set up, with professional lighting and backdrop. Local artist Erin Gillespie will display her Pretty Yolks jewelry, with objects from the past repurposed for the future, specializing in antique key jewelry.
The Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter Thrift Store, 66 South Main Street, will have free cookies and bottled water; a "sidewalk sale" table; 10% off purchases; adoptable puppies from CVAS; and Christmas in JULY sale items.
The Gift Enclosure, 78 South Main Street, will host a "meet & greet" with local artist Carolyn Baker who is featuring "Fabulous Fairies & Friends" from 5-7pm; refreshments will be served.
The Council for the Arts, 159 South Main Street, will host an open house featuring the paintings of Chambersburg artist Jeff Barnhart.
The First Friday children's activities will include a "decorate your own beach ball" table staffed by Chambersburg's Lady Cardinals, and face painting by Miss Penelope, at Kerrstown Square, 166 South Main Street.
