New pirate adventure for kids at Totem Pole Playhouse
The Rotary Club of Chambersburg Foundation sponsors a new pirate adventure for kids at Totem Pole Playhouse.
Totem Pole Playhouse is proud to present the return of the Totem Pole Players with a new musical pirate adventure. Last season area youngsters watched in delight as two pirates and the hero went on their hilarious adventure to Zombie Island in Pirates and Zombies. Writer/Composer Sean Fri brings the sequel to the Playhouse in Caledonia with Pirates in Space. In this new musical, the hero helps his pirate friends battle the greatest pirate in the galaxy before he tries to destroy the earth.
Artistic Director Ray Ficca says, "I am proud to continue the tradition of The Tadpole Players by presenting theatre for young audiences here at Totem Pole. We are extremely grateful to the Rotary Club of Chambersburg Foundation for giving us the funds to make this years production a reality. We want to make certain that every young person in our community has the opportunity to see live professional theatre. This generous grant makes that possible."
Pete Lagiovane, Chairman of the Rotary Club of Chambersburg Foundation, strongly believes that this show was worth supporting. "We are proud to contribute $2,000 to the Totem Pole Players: Theatre for Young Audiences. There are now generations that have never experienced live theatre or have never had major exposure to the live performing arts. This funding will help the Totem Pole Playhouse introduce younger members of our community to live professional theatre and to do so at an affordable cost to all families in the Franklin County area."
Each performance is "pay what you can" so every family will have the opportunity to bring kids to the theatre and not be hindered in doing so by the cost.
Following the show the cast will be in front of the theatre to sign autographs and take photos with our young audience members. Also the show program will have discounts from area businesses that patrons can enjoy after the show. Performance dates are: Saturdays: June 23, July 7, July 21, and August 4. Each of these four morning performances is general admission. The curtain rises at 10 a.m. and the admission line starts at 9 a.m. So come early and bring the family out for a morning of fun in the woods of Caledonia!
