Boonsboro High School Drama to stage "The Curious Savage"

This play hits the stage with an understudy performance on Thursday, April 19, 2012 with opening night Friday, April 20 and an additional performance on Saturday, April 21 - all at 7:30 p.m. at Boonsboro High School Auditorium. Cost is $5.
Ethel Savage (played by Jillian Gaulding, understudy Hannah Smyle) is a wealthy widow who is institutionalized by her children Titus (a U.S. senator played by Kevin Reese, understudy Zach Smith), Lilly Belle (a self-proclaimed ingenue played by Becca Smith, understudy Aspen Detwiler), and Samuel (a judge played Jake Smith, understudy Chris Himes), who hope to convince the legal system that their mother is insane and incapable of handling her estate. During her stay, Mrs. Savage encounters the friendly and loving inmates of "The Cloisters," an institution for those with apparent mental disorders. Meanwhile, her greedy and scheming children try to coerce their stepmother into sharing her inheritance with them. When the children begin using more dastardly methods to procure their mother's money, Mrs. Savage, through the help of her new friends, comes to realize the true value of friendship and money.
