Cash Grants Available to Community Groups
The Baltimore Life Companies are now accepting applications from non-profit organizations that serve Franklin and Washington County areas for a number of $500 grants.
Special consideration will be given to projects and programs that enhance family, safety and community issues. In addition, all organizations applying for assistance must be certified by the Internal Revenue Service as not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organizations.
“We created our grants program to fund ambitious, community-based organizations for which smaller-scale philanthropic support has a significant impact,” said L. John Pearson, Chairman, President, and Chief Executive Officer of The Baltimore Life Companies. “After sponsoring the program for several years, Baltimore Life remains committed to supporting homegrown projects that improve the quality of life in all of the communities where our employees live and work.”
Grant applications and guidelines are available on Baltimore Life’s web site at www.baltlife.com/site/a_grants.html. Applications are also available at Baltimore Life’s regional office located at 806 Waye Ave., Chambersburg, PA 17201. To request an application, call 717-264-4916 or 1-800-270-2306. Completed applications must be received by Monday, September 30, 2002.
“In the last four years through our Grants Program, Baltimore Life has awarded more than a quarter of a million dollars to non-profit organizations serving our communities,” said Mr. Pearson. “In addition, Baltimore Life was recognized by the September 11 Fund as one of the first major corporations to make a significant contribution. This year we continue our tradition of giving back to our communities by donating more than $70,000 in grants through our 30 regional offices located in Delaware, Georgia, Maryland, Ohio and Pennsylvania.”
