Puppy found in five foot deep well in Big Pool, MD

Hagerstown, MD: Calls from a concerned neighbor lead a Humane Society of Washington County (HSWC) Field Services officer to an abandoned puppy stranded in a five foot deep well at a house in Big Pool, MD.
The fluffy white ChowChow/Spitz/Samoyed mix puppy was frightened and hungry but seemed no worse for the wear. The puppy, estimated to be 8 weeks of age, was apparently one of a litter living at an empty house. The mother and other puppies were not located.
"We are very lucky to have found this adorable little guy," said HSWC Executive Director Paul F. Miller. "Thank goodness the neighbor's wife insisted she heard a puppy crying because this little guy was nowhere to be seen."
The puppy, named Sunny by the HSWC staff members, is aptly named. "He is so sweet and very full of himself," said Miller. "He will soon be available for adoption floor and we hope he will find a loving permanent home, never to be left alone again."
