Alzheimer's Association offers arts program at the Delaplaine Visual Arts & Education Center

The Alzheimer's Association, in partnership with the Delaplaine Visual Arts & Education Center and the Frederick Department of Aging, is continuing its offering of the "Partners in the Arts" program, sponsored by Edenton Retirement Community and HomeCare Rehab and Wellness. This exciting beginner friendly art program is designed for people with early stage memory loss and their care partners. Both partners will have the chance to develop their artistic abilities while exploring color, composition, and painting techniques under the guidance of an experience teacher and artist. Short gallery tours of the Delaplaine will be included for inspiration and education. This program is designed as an introduction to basic techniques, and no prior art experience is necessary.
Classes and gallery tours will be held at the Delaplaine Visual Arts & Education Center and the cost of the program is $30 for both persons with memory loss and caregiver. The group will meet every other Friday morning September through early December.
Registration is required and space is limited. To register and for more information, contact Cathy Hanson, LGSW, Program Coordinator at the Alzheimer's Association at 301-696-0315 or by email to cathy.hanson@alz.org.
