On Tuesday, July 26th, 2011 around 10:28pm a delivery driver from the China King attempted to make a delivery at 441 N. Potomac St. Once there 2 individuals approached him, one carrying a knife. They assaulted him, robbed him and then stole his vehicle. The suspects fled east on Broadway in the victim's vehicle. The victim sustained minor injuries, (no medical treatment was necessary).
We are currently looking for the victim's vehicle, a silver 2001 Mitsubishi Galant, with MD tags 9ERY39. The vehicle was found to have been in the Robinwood area shortly after the robbery occurred. Prior to obtaining the vehicle information from the victim, The Washington County Sheriff's Office determined the vehicle passed through one of their Tag Readers and believe the vehicle was heading towards the Smithsburg area. The Sheriff's Office is currently searching the area for the victim's vehicle.
The suspects are described as 2 black males, possibly teenagers. One was wearing a white t-shirt; the other was wearing a dark colored T-shirt. Detectives are currently working the investigation.
The Hagerstown City Police would like to notify the public that there is no immediate danger to the community at this time.
