The Mountain Heritage Arts & Crafts Festival celebrates 40 years

One of the best arts and crafts festivals on the Eastern Seaboard also has the best music. Enjoy bluegrass music in the shadow of the Blue Ridge; sample and/or buy a bottle of your favorite West Virginia wine for off-premise consumption; and look for the perfect arts and crafts from 11 states for keeping and giving. The 40th Annual Spring Mountain Heritage Arts & Crafts Festival features something for everyone - from live entertainment to demonstrations/sales of the best in arts and crafts and some of the best food and drink available. The Spring Festival takes place June 10-12, 2011, from 10am to 5pm all three days. Watch for the familiar Mountain Heritage Arts & Crafts Festival signs and follow them to Sam Michaels' Park, just off Route 340, between Harpers Ferry and Charles Town.
Come and see what Wild & Wonderful West Virginia has to offer. New this year we are partnering with AHA! Arts and Humanity Alliance and Craftworks to bring children's crafts, music, and games free for ages 3-12. Patent Pending, Bill Emerson & The Sweet Dixie Band, and new this year, The Hillbilly Gyspies will entertain festival-goers on both Saturday and Sunday, June 11 and 12.
The weekend offers a chance to visit Jefferson County, one of the most historic counties in West Virginia; the festival is held just outside of Harpers Ferry, West Virginia, approximately one hour northwest of Washington, DC. Food and drink stands make an impromptu picnic on the beautiful grounds of the park inviting. So bring along your children, your eye for excellence in creativity, your ear for good music, and your appetite for great food. But pets and alcoholic beverages are not welcome! We also remind everyone that it is a violation of West Virginia law for anyone under the age of 21 to consume or buy wine or other alcoholic beverages, so you must be prepared to show valid identification for tasting or purchasing wine.
Admission is $7 for adults, $4 for children 6-17. Parking, arts/crafts demonstrations, wine tasting, live entertainment, and some children's activities are included in the price of admission.
