Cumberland Valley School of Music Community Symphonic Band presents patriotic Memorial Day concert

Chambersburg: The CVSM Community Symphonic Band presents a Memorial Day concert at Chambersburg Municipal Park Memorial Bandshell, Monday, May 30, 2011 at 7:30pm. Highlights for the concert include "America the Beautiful", "Stars and Stripes Forever", a medley featuring music from the Broadway musical "1776" and other patriotic themed songs. A special tribute to the U.S. armed services will honor each branch of military and the men and women who are serving, or have served, either in the United States or overseas. Admission is free. In the event of inclement weather, the concert will be held at Chambersburg Area Middle School.
With nearly 100 members, the CVSM Community Symphonic Band performs twice a year and rehearses several weeks prior to each performance. Musicians who play wind, brass or percussion instruments are encouraged to participate. Participation in the band and admission to the concert are both free.
