Alzheimer's Association support groups

The Alzheimer's Association, Greater Maryland Chapter, Western Maryland Region, offers family/caregiver support group meetings throughout Washington County. These meetings are open to the public and are free of charge.
Somerford House & Place is offering a special May program titled "Behavior Problems with Alzheimer's and Effective Solutions" on May 12 at 4:30pm at 10114 Sharpsburg Pike in Hagerstown. To RSVP, please call Sheri Evans at 301-791-9221.
Homewood at Williamsport holds a monthly lunchtime support group the third Wednesday of each month. Homewood is located at 16505 Virginia Avenue in Williamsport. The next meeting will be Wednesday, May 18 at noon. For more information, please call Pastor Jeff Shull at 301-582-1750.
Washington Square United Methodist Church, located at 538 Washington Square in Hagerstown is holding a monthly caregiver support group the last Tuesday of every month from 7-8pm. The next meeting is scheduled for May 24. For more information, call Pastor Jerry Lowans at 301-739-9344. The meeting is open to anyone caring for a person with dementia.
A group of individuals with early-stage memory loss and caregivers is being formed in Washington County. The time-limited group is for persons with early-stage dementia. Pre-screening is required.
