Join the fun at the 4th annual artFEST!!

artFEST 2011 will be held on Saturday, January 29 at the Historic Preservation Warehouse, 252 East King Street in Chambersburg. artFEST, held in conjunction with Chambersburg's IceFest, is an artistic demonstration, where the artists create their art throughout the day, with the general public watching the art develop, ending with an auction of the works created. Last year over 300 people watched art being made!
artFEST's doors open to the public at 9am, and all art works must be completed by 4pm, when they will be auctioned to benefit the "For the Kids" fund; any works not sold will be donated to Taste of the Valley, the annual fundraiser that donates money to Frances Leiter Center and other children's organizations that are in need. Refreshments will be available, and proceeds will go toward "The Safe Kids", a fire department/Red Cross organization whose proceeds help to purchase car seats, smoke detectors, etc.
The primary medium for artFEST is paint on canvas; the artists provide their own paints and brushes, and artFEST provides each artist with a 20 x 24" canvas. Other mediums will be considered; artists working in other mediums and wishing to participate should call 717-261-9110 or 717-377-3093. Participating artists may work in the morning, in the afternoon, or all day. There will be canvases for approximately 30 artists.
Please call 717-261-9110 or 717-377-3093 with any questions or by January 15, to register for participation.
