Wisdom From a Furry Friend
The purrrfect pair for the holidays

Hi! We are Grey Ghost and Jack and we are living at the Humane Society of Washington County until we go to our forever homes. We are hoping we can go together because we are just 5 months old and we have always been together. We make a very cute pair, so we are told.
You know, this holiday season the Humane Society is offering a two for one adoption rate for cats. That means you can adopt two cats or kittens for one adoption fee of $75.00. There is an additional $15.00 per pet for rabies shots. It is a super price because both cats would already be either spayed or neutered, would have been tested for feline leukemia and would have had vaccinations and parasite treatment. When we go home we come with one month of free pet health insurance, a post adoption examination with a local vet, a microchip, an ID tag, and a training DVD. Isn't that great?
With all of those tremendous pluses to adopting from the Humane Society, we are hoping that someone takes advantage of this great offer and takes both of us home together. We hope that people will come visit the shelter and see all of the tremendous animals that are available for adoption. Each year people purchase pets from stores and that makes us very sad because that means one of us may not have a home to go to and we would love to be cuddled and spoiled and taken care of forever.
This holiday season we hope people will help homeless animals find their permanent homes by joining the Humane Society of Washington Home 4 the Holidays adoption promotion campaign. In the past the Washington County Board of Education and numerous schools, L&L Pawsabilities, What A Tan, Central Dawgma and the Dawg Wash, Elizabeth & Company Hair and Nail Salon, Wisteria Cove, Dixie's Diner, Curves of Boonsboro, Long & Foster Real Estate, Hempen Hill BBQ Bar & Grill and the Premium Outlets have all helped spread the word about adopting a homeless pet during the holiday season by collecting items for the homeless animals at the shelter.
A giant stocking signifies businesses and individuals were official drop off locations and were collecting goodies for the animals. Each pet that is adopted during December and into January had their own stocking stuffed to the brim with the donations of food, toys and other goodies that were donated by caring people in Washington County.
If you would like to help bring awareness to the many homeless pets in our community that are in need of a permanent family please contact the Humane Society of Washington County at 301 733 2060 and ask for Katherine. She will get a giant stocking for you to fill and start the conversations about the needs of homeless pets. When the community becomes involved good things happen.
And remember to come by and meet us. We would love to play and cuddle in your house this holiday and for many more to come.
