Kaplan University employees dress down for the Humane Society of Washington County

Hagerstown, MD: Employees of Kaplan University recently donated the proceeds from their Jeans Day program to the Humane Society of Washington County (HSWC). On Friday August 27, 2010 Kaplan University's Lisa Copenhaver Dean of Student Affairs and Bonnie Mazzocchi Student Success Coordinator presented the donation of $196.00 to HSWC Executive Director Paul Miller.
"Each month employees are permitted to wear jeans to work on a specific weekday if they donate $5 towards that month's chosen charity," said Shannon Cianelli, Director of Career Services. "For the month of July they chose to help the Humane Society of Washington County." Lisa Copenhaver indicated this type of fundraiser serves a dual purpose. "It is a fun but educational project because information on the chosen organization is posted for employees and students to read," said Copenhaver. "This is done to promote awareness of the organization we are helping that month and to promote the idea of giving back to the community."
