Curious Creatures Art Show will help animals in need

Hagerstown, MD: Local artists Callie Badorrek and Victoria Wenderlich will be exhibiting their curious and imaginative animal creations at the Pfister Gallery at 437 N. Market Street in Frederick, MD for three weeks beginning November 26, 2010. They will hold receptions on November 26th and December 4th from 5-9pm with proceeds from a raffle being donated to the Humane Society of Washington County (HSWC).
The opening reception on November 26th will feature original pieces by both artists and begins the raffle. Raffle prizes include works by Badorrek and Wenderlich, a one of a kind painting by Sumner Crenshaw and a gift basket from local Frederick veterinarian Dr. Phillip Palmer. The raffle will run until Saturday, December 11th and the drawing will be held on December 12th.
Badorrek has an affinity for the Humane Society of Washington County. "We adopted our beagle Sookie from the Humane Society and we just love her," said Badorrek. "Both Vicki and I hope the show will give people the opportunity to find some interesting pieces of original artwork for holiday gifts and help animals in need at the same time."
A second reception will be held on Saturday December 4th, First Saturday, from 5 to 9pm and features a special discount for visitors that come with a Curious Creatures postcard. Holiday cookies and wine will be served and the artists will be at the event. To request a postcard or for details contact Callie Badorrek at 240-446-1626 or callie.badorrek@gmail.com. Discounts will be for December 4th only.
The gallery will be open Thursdays and Fridays from 2-9pm and Saturdays and Sundays from 12-9pm or by appointment.
