Pooch Plunge at Potterfield offers a splashing good time for all

Hagerstown, MD: The 7th annual Pooch Plunge at Potterfield Pool will be held on Wednesday September 8th, from 5:30-8:30pm at the Claude M. Potterfield Pool, 730 Frederick Street in Hagerstown, MD 21740. This event will benefit the Humane Society of Washington County's (HSWC) numerous programs.
Last year 171 dogs and 286 people joined in on the fun. "It was really something to see," said Paul Miller, HSWC Executive Director. "This is becoming an annual end of summer event for families interested in having a night out with their pets. I think this is a wonderful way to bid farewell to summer by treating your dog to one last swim before the weather turns cold," he said, adding, "We hope everyone will join us for the fun."
The City of Hagerstown Parks and Recreation Department provide use of the pool each year for the event. "We are grateful to the City of Hagerstown Parks and Recreation Department and residents of Washington County and surrounding areas for supporting this event." Last year's event raised $1,117.00 for the shelter.
Admission to the event for 1 dog plus 1 handler is $5.00. Additional humans or pets will be $2.00 each. For more information, contact the HSWC at 301-733-2060, ext. 237.
