Wilson Boulevard Closure

City of Hagerstown Traffic Advisory
Wilson Boulevard Closure

Hagerstown, MD (July 23, 2010) - CSX Transportation, Inc. plans to remove and replace the existing railroad crossing on E. Wilson Boulevard near S. Potomac Street (adjacent to the CVS Pharmacy). This work will involve removing all of the existing roadbed and crossties, and replacing them with new crossties and new concrete roadbed panels. This work will require the complete closure of Wilson Boulevard (both eastbound and westbound lanes) at the railroad crossing for approximately five (5) days. Beginning at 7am on Monday, August 9, 2010, Wilson Boulevard will be closed to all thru traffic at the railroad crossing. Traffic approaching the crossing will be forced to detour around the work area using other City streets; a detour route will be posted to direct vehicles accordingly. Local traffic will be able to access properties on Wilson Boulevard on either side of the railroad crossing. Motorists approaching the work area will encounter traffic control signs, cones, barricades, and detour signs. CSX plans to complete the work and reopen Wilson Boulevard to traffic by 5pm on Friday, August 13th.
Emergency vehicles will not be able to pass through the railroad crossing while this work is being performed.
