2010 Spring Dumpster Program Cancelled

Hagerstown, MD (March 30, 2010): The City of Hagerstown will not be conducting a Spring Dumpster Program for 2010. The program is not being held due to budgetary constraints.
"The dumpster program may continue sometime after July 1, 2010, which is the start of the new budget year," stated Manager of Public Works Eric Deike. "However, further discussions will need to be held before a final decision is made on the continuation of this program."
Mr. Deike went on to explain that residents of Hagerstown can continue to use the Bulk Trash Collection Program. Collections of large items are scheduled on the first and third Wednesdays of each month. Arrangements for collections can be made at 51 W. Memorial Blvd. Monday through Friday from 8am to 4:30pm. The minimum fee for a collection is $25. Items that can not be collected include car batteries, paint or other liquids, propane tanks, or fuels such as gasoline and diesel fuel. Air conditioners, freezers and refrigerators are an additional $25 each.
