Public Hearing on Redistricting Set for January 5, 2010

Hagerstown, MD (December 23, 2009): The Washington County Board of Education will host a public hearing on redistricting January 5, 2010, at 6:30pm at South Hagerstown High School to hear comments from citizens about the redistricting recommendations of the Facilities and Enrollment Advisory Committee (FEAC) and the Superintendent of Schools.
Doors will open at 5:30pm Staff will be available before, during and after the meeting to address the specifics of the recommendations, including questions about boundaries.
The hearing is scheduled to last 2 1/2 hours. Those interested in speaking may contact Debbie Cechovic, Board Secretary, at 301-766-2994 and cechodeb@wcboe.k12.md.us. Each speaker will be allotted three minutes and those representing an organization will be allotted five minutes. Speakers are encouraged to provide a minimum of nine copies of their comments to the Board of Education for future consideration.
