(Hagerstown, MD): The Hagerstown Community College Alumni Association will host the Pa. Air National Guard Band of the Mid-Atlantic as part of its annual Red, White and Blue Concert Series, on Mon., June 29, at 6pm, in HCC's Alumni Amphitheater.
The Air National Guard Band was originally formed in 1942 as the 53rd Army Air Forces Band and underwent a series a name changes before it was given its current name in 2000. A traditional Air National Guard squadron, the band consists of 36 members, all National Guard members with civilian careers who meet one weekend a month to rehearse and perform. At HCC, the Band will perform a variety of patriotic, classical, and swing music, as well as show tunes. The final portion of the program will consist of a musical tribute honoring America's servicemen and women.
Co-sponsored by the Hagerstown-Washington County Convention and Visitors Bureau, this concert is free and is open to the public.
