Boonsboro High Link Crew Raises Money for Ronald McDonald House

Hagerstown, MD (April 28, 2009): Link Crew leaders at Boonsboro High School conducted fund raisers earlier this school year and generated $1,000 for the Ronald McDonald House in Baltimore. A number of Link Crew leaders traveled to the center this month to make the check presentation in person, tour the facility and learn more about the center's work with seriously ill children and their families.
Funds were raised at basketball games and in a competition among first period classes.
In their visit to the Ronald McDonald House, students met with President/CEO Marianne Rowan-Braun, who thanked the students for their effort and generosity, and talked of the varied ways people contribute to the visiting families. The Boonsboro students immediately began planning for related activities next school year.
The Link Crew is comprised of student leaders who assist incoming students with the transition from middle school to high school, serving as mentors and role models.
