HCC Announces Seminars for Annual Flower & Garden Show

(Hagerstown, MD): The Hagerstown Community College Alumni Association announces its seminar schedule for the HCC Alumni Association's 15th Annual Flower & Garden Show to be held in the College's Athletic, Recreation, and Community Center on Saturday, March 14, from 9am to 5pm, and Sunday, March 15, from 10am to 5pm
Demonstrations will be held throughout both days. In addition, Saturday's seminars are:
9:30am: "Rain Gardens," by Annette Ipsan, extension educator, horticulture, Maryland Cooperative Extension, Washington County
10:30am: "Vegetable Gardening: In the Beginning" by Gary Fulmer, Washington County master gardener
11:30am: "Vegetable Gardening: Getting to Harvest" by Gary Fulmer
12:30pm: "Growing Backyard Vineyard," by Dick Penna, Antietam Vineyards
1:30pm: "Rainwater Harvesting," by Jennifer Willoby, Potomac River Commission
2:30pm: "How to Build a Salad Box," by Bob and Anne Courtemanche, Washington County master gardeners
3:30pm: "Container Gardening," by Gordan and Janet Bartels, Washington County master gardeners
Sunday's seminars are:
11:30am: "Vegetable Gardening: In the Beginning," by Don Knode, Washington County master gardener
12:30pm: "Vegetable Gardening: Getting to Harvest," by Don Knode
1:30pm: "Using Alternative Products: Our Effect on the Bay" by Lynn Little, extension educator, family and consumer sciences, Maryland Cooperative Extension, Washington County
2:30pm: "Hard Scraping vs. Green Scraping: Why Have We Forgotten The Green?" by Ed Rhone, Hagerstown Community College grounds manager
