Haunted U.S. Battlefields

Anything and everything paranormal, I say. As a true believer, I found Mary Beth Crain's new novel "Haunted U.S. Battlefields" to be fascinating.
This hair-raising tour of America's most legendary locations features ghost stories ranging from the Revolutionary War to World War II to the French and Indian War to the Civil War. Each story includes a paragraph or two of the battle and a few of the stories aren't only of American souls.
One of the featured stories is of the most haunted battlefield in the United States - Gettysburg. Crain states that practically every tourist or resident there has a tale to tell about seeing a ghost, whether at Gettysburg National Military Park or in the town of Gettysburg itself. Among one of the sightings is of a Confederate soldier who tries to stop tourists from taking pictures.
Crain also speaks of the battle of The Alamo where numerous sightings include a friendly teenaged Mexican boy dressed as Santa Anna's army. George Custer has been reported as being seen many times at Little Bighorn and uniformed spirits still roam the land at Pearl Harbor. A faceless phantom terrifies hotel guests on the infamous Island of death in the Philippines where thousands of Americans lost their lives during World War II.
There are also stories locally that take place at Antietam Battlefield. Many visitors have reported a constant feeling of dread, while others report hearing shouts and whispers and the clashing of metal. Bloody Lane is the feature in Crain's recount of ghostly sightings at Antietam where many have heard the infamous battle cry of the Irish Brigade.
"Haunted U.S. Battlefields" is a must-have for history buffs and anyone who enjoys a good spine-tingling ghost story.
Journalist and editor author Mary Beth Crain collected 25 chapters worth of stories that state unsettled spirits still perform their duties.
"Haunted U.S. Battlefields" is a fascinating read and interesting read. To get the full effect...I urge you to turn the lights off.
If you don't believe in ghosts get "Haunted U.S. Battlefields" - it will change your mind.
