Sign up Now For Audubon Photo Camp for Teens

The Potomac Valley Audubon Society (PVAS) is now accepting applications for its nature photography summer day camp for teenagers.
The weeklong camp will be held June 17-21 at Shepherd University's Center for Contemporary Arts in Shepherdstown.
It will be led by Anne Cropper, a professional photographer and artist who is a graduate of Shepherd's Visual Arts Program.
Members of the PVAS's Potomac Valley Nature Photographers group will also assist, helping with photo coaching and special topics.
The camp is open to any youngster of high school age (grades 9-12).
Participants will learn the basics of digital photography using Nikon 35mm digital SLR cameras supplied by PVAS. Much of each day will be spent outside photographing natural features in the Shepherdstown area.
They will also spend time in a computer lab where they will learn how to edit and manage digital images using the latest software.
Each student will be able to keep all the images they have taken, and they will get to select one photograph for display at a public show at the end of camp.
Registration for the camp is limited to ensure that each student receives close, personal attention.
To register or get more information, go the PVAS website at www.potomacaudubon.org/photcamp. Or contact Ellen Murphy at 304-676-8739 or ellen@potomacaudu_bon.org.
A grant from Jefferson County Arts and Humanities Association (AHA) is helping to fund this year's program.
