Sharpsburg Elementary accepting memorial donations in honor of Rosemarie Shade

The Sharpsburg area recently lost a very memorable individual. Some may remember her as a dedicated first grade teacher at Sharpsburg Elementary School for more than 30 years: patient, kind, having a giant heart and smile, but tough when she needed to be. Some may remember her as a legendary colleague: always ready to help, sharing her wisdom when asked, and forever exercising her wit. Some may remember her as a friend: always having an extra ear to listen, a shoulder to cry on and some words of humor, kindness and faith. She truly found the silver lining in almost every situation.
Parent, child, co-worker or community member, Rosemarie Shade left an indelible impression upon you. It was obvious that she loved children and it was her mission in life to help them learn. She did so diligently until her retirement in 2005. Mrs. Shade continued to use her skills any way she could while substituting, volunteering, and enjoying time with her husband, family and friends at her beloved beach home in North Carolina.
Sharpsburg Elementary Social Committee is accepting memorial donations in honor of Rosemarie Shade. Donations will be used to purchase new books for the school library. What better way to honor such a devoted educator as to purchase the books she so loved to share with students? Each book purchased with the donations will be identified in Mrs. Shade's memory with an inscription. Future students, parents, faculty and community members will learn from her legacy.
Memorial donations may be made payable to Sharpsburg Elementary Social Committee and designated in honor of Mrs. Rosemarie Shade. Thank you for your support.
