Alzheimer's Association Support Groups

The Alzheimer's Association, Greater Maryland Chapter, Western Maryland Region, offers family/caregiver support group meetings throughout Washington County. These meetings are open to the public and are free of charge.
Broadmore Senior Living offers a monthly caregiver support group the second Wednesday of each month at noon at 1175 Professional Court in Hagerstown. Lunch is provided. Please RSVP with K.C. Ryerson at 301-766-0066. The August meeting is schedule for Wednesday, August 14.
Somerford House & Place holds a monthly Alzheimer's support group the first Tuesday of the month at 5:30 p.m. at 10114 Sharpsburg Pike in Hagerstown. The meeting will be held on Tuesday, August 6. To RSVP, please call Sheri Evans at 301-791-9221.
Homewood at Williamsport holds a monthly lunchtime support group the third Wednesday of each month. Homewood is located at 16505 Virginia Avenue in Williamsport. The next meeting will be Wednesday, August 21 at noon. For more information, please call Shelby Vaughn at 301-582-1750.
Washington Square United Methodist church, located at 538 Washington Square in Hagerstown, hosts a monthly caregiver support group the last Tuesday of every month from 7-8 p.m. For more information and to RSVP, call Pastor Jerry Lowans at 301-739-9344. The August meeting will be held on Tuesday, August 27.
A specialty group for people living with early-stage memory loss and caregivers is the third Tuesday of each month at Somerford House, located at 10114 Sharpsburg Pike in Hagerstown at 4:30 p.m. The next meeting is Tuesday, August 20. Please contact Cathy Hanson at the Alzheimer's Association at 301-696-0315 for more information about this group.
