Two WCPS High Schools Honored as STEM Innovation Schools by Maryland Business Roundtable for Education

Hagerstown, Md. (Dec. 12, 2013) - Washington County Technical High School and Williamsport High School were selected as STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) Innovation Schools and honored last month at a recognition ceremony by the Maryland Business Roundtable for Education (MBRT). MBRT's annual meeting was held at the National Electronics Museum in Linthicum, Maryland. The event highlighted the partnership between the business community and public education in Maryland, aimed at improving education and student achievement. Tech High and Williamsport High are now part of Maryland's nationally acclaimed STEM Innovation Network, an expanding program using state funding, private support and hundreds of volunteers to enhance STEM teaching and learning.
